General Hughes was born in Adair, Oklahoma.  After graduating from Adair High School he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK.  He received his commission as an Officer in the United States Air Force and after graduating from pilot training was assigned to fly B-52 bombers at Blytheville Arkansas. He was an aircraft commander during the later part of the Cuban Missile Crisis during the Kennedy administration. He was one of the two youngest aircraft commanders in the Strategic Air Command at the time, commanded a crew of six and flew with four nuclear weapons in the bomb bay and two long range nuclear missiles on the wing during the airborne alert missions. These missions were scheduled for 24 hours in length with three in flight refuelings. 

After serving in SAC for five years he was assigned to the University of Colorado to gain his Masters Degree in Manpower Management. After graduating he went to F-4 training and then was assigned to Cam Rahn Bay, Republic of Vietnam.  At Cam Rahn Bay he flew 238 Combat missions, 38 of these missions were flown over North Vietnam. He was awarded the Silver Star for heroism in combat and four Distinguished Flying Crosses for Valor.  He amassed 25 Air Medals for exceptional airmanship.  After Vietnam he was assigned to the Pentagon as a force structure planner and was promoted below the zone to Lieutenant Colonel. He was subsequently assigned to the National War College and then back to the Strategic Air Command (SAC). AT SAC he was promoted below the zone to full Colonel and served as the youngest Deputy Commander for Operations in the Command while at Kincheloe, Air Force Base, Michigan. Later he was assigned to the Pentagon as a war planner and then to Strategic Command Headquarters as the nuclear and conventional war planner. Later he was reassigned to the Pentagon and promoted to Lt. General. 

After retiring from the Air Force General Hughes was the Senior Vice President for the BETAC Corp and then, along with his wife, the Honorable Grace Flores-Hughes established their own consulting business working for several large international corporations. After serving on the board of the TVI Corporation he was selected as the President and CEO and is now serving in that capacity. They manufacture light weight yet extremely sturdy life saving and protection equipment for the US Military, our first responders and first receivers. This equipment includes powered air respirators, filter canisters for the military, mortuaries, decontamination shelters and transportable high technology kitchens.

Ms.  Voelkel joined Immediate Response Technologies in February 2006 as the Company’s Corporate Controller and was named Chief Financial Officer on September 5, 2007.  Prior to IRT, Ms. Voelkel was Director of Accounting and Attest Services at Sturn, Wagner, Lombardo & Co., a public accounting firm in Annapolis, Maryland from August 2002 to February 2006. 

Prior to that, Ms. Voelkel was employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC where she held the position of Partner in Accounting and Business Advisory Services.  Ms. Voelkel graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Colonel John P. McMullen, US Army (Ret), joined Immediate Response Technologies in 2009 after three years as a highly successful Vice President for Business Development for several large Defense Contractors in the Metro DC area. COL McMullen is a veteran of 30 years of Army service in the Special Forces and Intelligence Communities, and served as a member of the US Government’s Senior Executive Service in the Department of Homeland Security. 

His outstanding leadership and innovative thinking have been instrumental in facilitating the unprecedented growth of the company and have enabled IRT to significantly increase its sales and operational effectiveness across all areas of company activity. Col McMullen is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, the Inter-American Defense College, the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY; and has earned graduate degrees from Saint Joseph’s University and Salve Regina University.
